I have a Grandfather clock that, I think, is wound too tight. I wound it one day and it quit running but,if I were to endlessly, manually, swing the long hand back and forth, it seems to unwind a bit. Who has time for that?( no pun intended). Please tell me how I can get this fixed,or, if I can fix it myself.

I'm talking about modern electric clocks and watches. At one time we were always told that it damaged clocks if you turned them backwards.

In the old days u would just unplug at the back and knock all the dials out, but how easy can you clock a modern day car?? can it be done
