How can I make my living room look more cozy, warm and romantic? It looks to masculine, leather furn
drapes, grandfather clock, art above the fireplace mantel, decorative tin ceilings. The furniture color is cinnamon, the drapes are a gold suede, the walls are Navajo White (sort of a creamy beige) all wood in the room is dark cherry. I want it to be someplace I can feel cozy in these coming winter months.
As for my leather, it is a sustainable resource unlike many fabrics manufactured today. It does not harm our future environment and lasts for decades.

Accessorize! Add feminine elements in pillows, throws, candles and sculptures/crystals within the same color scheme. In shades of red, gold, warm brown, and perhaps some burgundy, as well as clear crystal. Add a little fluidity in shape, since I get the sense that everything is very "solid" right now. Rounded items and wavy lines. Maybe a mounted animal head too, just for ilovebob. Or soft furs in a range of brown and yellow shades.
I would add scented pillar candles (Cinnamon) in autumn shades with entwined fall branches (Pier one inports have nice ones) on a tray for the table. Add fresh flowers, brown candle holders and for the leather sofa add throws/pillows in fall colors to make it cozy and warm. Don't forget magazines and hot coco. A rug if u have the funds makes a big difference, I'm going to target to find one myself....good luck!

Take a photo of your living room and print it out. Then look in a number of magazines and compare the photo's of living spaces that appeal to you with your own living room photo. You'll know what is missing then. It sounds to me like you are missing fabric: whether this is in carpetting or pillows or throws but you might be amazed if you do what I wrote what you'll find.
I got this tip in a home fashion magazine; taking a photo of the problem space creates a distance and you'll be better able to tell what is missing or wrong in your space, especially if you compare it with photo's that DO appeal to you.
Good luck

Nice sofa, in that case if you like my idea all you need to do is to make you drapes and add a plant like the one in the picture and if you can sew make a few pillows by using squares of the fabric that you choose for the window treatment and a plain colour that compliments the print just like this idea here

I would put vases of flowers around that kind of go with your furniture. Like crimson colors as well as beige. You could also put bowls of potpourri and Cinnamon sticks around the house. It would go good with the the colors you've got going now. Look for an area rug that is light so you can lighnten up the room. They have cute area rugs that have tan, plum and olive in it, I bet that would look nice. You can also get really ellegant lamp shades that could tone it down a little. Also don't forget about pillows for the couch, that may make a difference. Good Luck and happy decorating. Oh I forgot...candles, candles and more candles
