Do cuckoo clocks keep good time?
Are they renowned for being bad keepers of time? Please help!

cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo I like that word
mine broke
Cuckoo Clocks came about around 1700s, clocks made back then had a daily error of about 100 seconds.

So yes, they were pretty much bad keepers of time, however, the style of Cuckoo Clocks continued and they are still being produced today, with better technology and workmanship, so though the facade is the same, the insides are different and you can safely get a Cuckoo clock that is pretty accurate today.
A genuine cuckoo clock is a mechanical device that depends on weights and springs. They are nice decorations but not good time keepers.
they are accurate, yes.
The inaccuracy only occurs when people try to snatch the poor little cockoo once it sets his little head outside the door.
My genuine cuckoo clock kept good time till my cat jumped up and grabbed the chain. Cuckoo ...cu..cckk...aaaaghhhhhhhhhhh!
