Does it damage modern clocks if you turn the hands backwards when you adjust them? Tonight for insta
I'm talking about modern electric clocks and watches.

At one time we were always told that it damaged clocks if you turned them backwards.

very much!
They still recommend you turn the hands in a clockwise direction
It's a definite no-no with mechanical or electric clocks that have an alarm or a striking mechanism - they can very easily be harmed by turning backwards. But if there's no alarm or striker then clockwork and electric are generally ok to turn backwards. If in doubt, turn slowly and gently, and stop if you feel a resistance!
Good luck next year!
