While stationed in Germany (USAF) on a German Air Force base, I purchased a Gustoff Becker, two weight, Golden Madallion, Austrian regulator. It cost me $300.00 and is now worth about 1500-2500 dollars. I think they are the best anyone has to offer. By looking at the serial number you can tell when the clock was made. Mine was made in 1885. Hope this helps.
you can do a search on eBay for getting good look into cost for clocks and even do a search there for antiques if this is what you mean....
I have been trying to do some slight inexpensive/expensive changes here in my house. I chose to put more money into flooring rather than clocks since I already have a Ridgeway tall clock given to me by my Dad. Expensive? I know it cost over $1,000 but frankly I'm more impressed that he is the one I got it from. My new clock on the wall is just a good ole' Dollar Store clock with very pretty wood framing and antique roman numerals.....keeps time perfectly and that's what I care about....lol...
