Where can you get a large wall countdown clock for a New Year's Eve party?

Try using a projector and your PC. Its cool and during the earlier part of the evening you can use it to project cool graphics.

HAve fun!
I know Michaels arts and craft stores have ones for christmas. theyll probably have one for new years after christmas. theyre lik $80
Projectors cost several hundred bucks.

Most of the counters they sell in the stores are either too expensive or too small and/or can't be easily reset if you want to use it next year (assuming it doesn't stop working by then).

Most people have a fairly large TV (46" or more) by now, so probably you do too.

Make a slide show on your computer of a countdown. 10, 9, 8, etc. (don't know why people start at 10, because I need at least 15 seconds to uncork a champagne bottle without anyone losing an eye... Personally, I start my New Year's Countdowns at 15. Do whatever makes you happy.

turn your slide show into a movie with any of the popular programs of the day. (Link to YouTubes movie describing process, below)

You can then either port your movie from your computer to your TV and click to play it. Or if you are feeling really geeky and energetic, you can burn it to a CD that will play in your DVD player which will then display on your TV. Start the movie a couple of minutes before your countdown and hit "pause" so your countdown movie will be ready to play immediately and won't take extra time loading and then screwing up your countdown.

You can also just watch someone else's countdown on TV or Internet and not have to futz with any of this stuff. I included a link below to two guys that are counting down all 35 time zones. That ought to cover ya.

Best wishes for a successful New Year's Party.
